Best cosplay for short guys!
Let’s face it; not all of us are blessed to have good genes where we can be as tall as NBA players like LeBron James. But that’s okay; there are advantages of being a short guy. I’m 5’10 so I wouldn’t say I’m short, I’m relatively tall. And believe me, there are things that I dislike about the height; things hitting my head randomly, fitting in small cars, and having long arms and legs makes things harder for me in the gym (in my opinion). But most importantly, there are a lot of short characters that are awesome and worth cosplaying!
In this post, we’ll go through 15 best cosplay for short guys. They’re from a variety of fandom, including Anime, video games, comics, movies and more. So if you’re a shorty dude and want to cosplay someone who’s also vertically challenged, then this post is for you.
Let’s get started!
1. Edward Elric
When we think of short characters in the Anime world, Edward Elric is definitely the first character you think about. The pipsqueak from Fullmetal Alchemist is the main character of the series. While he might come off as hard-headed and immature, the reason why he’s so popular is because of his golden heart and courage. As the series goes deeper, you see the amazing character that Ed becomes. And that’s why I recommend cosplaying him. Plus wearing a metallic arm is cool!
Xiao is probably one of the shortest characters in Genshin Impact! Xiao is actually an “adeptibeast”, a demi god race of Liyue. He lost his friends and had to murder numerous enemies throughout his life, hence his pain and “emo” demeanor. Nonetheless, Xiao is still a Husbando to many Genshin players, so he’s a great cosplay choice. Bring a staff with you as he likes to plunge into his enemies!
A lot of Mario characters are pretty short! Mario and Toad are the first to come to mind. But if you rather be a badass villain, why not go for Wario! He might be a little complex to do, but you’ll look absolutely amazing if you cosplay Wario.
If you love pirates, then you’ll love cosplaying Monkey D. Luffy! The iconic main character of this long-running Anime, he is super easy to cosplay. Luffy is similar to Naruto; they’re both knuckleheads but it’s their fearlessness that make them stand out. Luffy is your typical loveable Shonen main character, and an amazing pirate.
5. Honey-Senpai from Ouran Host Club
For you younger readers of this blog, you may not know of Ouran Host Club. But it was one of the most popular Anime shows a decade ago. Ouran is full of adorable and loveable characters. Honey-Senpai is one of them, and he’s definitely a short character worth cosplaying. He’s also easy to do; you just need a white dress shirt, black dress pants, the blazer and of course the bunny!
Deku is the poster boy of this series and definitely a great character if you’re looking to cosplay from the series. With his signature green hair, cute freckles and upbeat personality, Deku is an awesome character to cosplay if you’re looking for someone that’s adorable and inspiring. Don’t forget that Ciel is a male! He’s the one who makes the commands for Sebastian. And of course, he dresses so eloquently. You can opt for his usual suit, or you can go all out with his dress!
8. Peter Griffin
We tend to look to Anime and video games for cosplay ideas, but why not turn to Western cartoons for inspiration? Peter Griffin is the main character of Family Guy, a funny show that’s been around for a long time now. Peter Griffin is an icon!
Vegeta is another popular character from DBZ. While he’s always known to come second to Goku and is definitely a lot shorter than him, that doesn’t take away from his popularity. Vegeta is a great antihero that’s lovable and relatable to many people. That’s probably why so many cosplayers have dressed up as him over the years. He’s just so badass!
Am I the only one that still remembers this lovely song? I actually went to Gangnam a couple of year ago when I was in Seoul. Psy might not be as popular as when his song came out, but his outfit is very easy to do!
One of the most memorable and favorite villains in FMA, Gluttony is a character that works for all body shapes and sizes, including plus size. Unlike Al, Gluttony is very easy to pull off. All you really need is black-coloured pants, shoes and a sleeveless shirt. And either have a bald head or wear a mask to cover your hair to look bald.
Sasuke is like the complete opposite of Naruto: an anti-hero, brooding and emotional character. Given his past and his current objective, it makes sense why. If you’re looking to wear a Naruto outfit, Sasuke is a great choice. He’s one of the shorter characters in Naruto.
The toad master Jiraiya was Naruto’s teacher in the beginning of the series with a unique personality. He was known to be quite the pervert! It’s too bad that he was killed relatively early in the series. If you’re looking for a sensei type of Naruto cosplay that’s plus size-friendly, then Jiraiya is for you!
The most badass member of X-Men in my opinion. Wolverine may be a good guy, but he’s far from being a role model character. With his tough personality, he won’t hesitate to use violent means to fight off evil. Wolverine is a great character to cosplay, especially if you’re an older cosplayer.
Good old L happens to be one of the most popular characters in all of Anime. He’s the leading detective trying to catch the one that is using the Death Note to kill various people in the Anime. L’s demeanor is very weird; he crouches often and eats candy all day. He’s definitely bizarre but very lovable and very smart.
