In the fictional world and in some cases, the real world..blue hair is a very popular choice of hair color. It just goes so well with your outfit! And fortunately, we have lots of great characters who have blue hair that you may consider cosplaying.

Of course we had to include a character from Genshin, and none other than Raiden Shogun!
Did you know that Raiden Shogun was the most popular character banner (as of early 2022)? This just shows how insanely popular she is. Not just in the game but in the cosplay world as well. There have been tons of Raiden Shogun cosplayers and for good reason. Not only is her outfit super-hot, but everyone likes her character design. I mean, who doesn’t want to dress up as the fierce Archon who pulls a sword out of her chest?
2. Kaito from Vocaloid
Remember when Vocaloid was all the rage? I remember Kaito was one of the most popular characters from Vocaloid. There are so many variations of his outfit you can do, including this Fleeting Moon Flower edition. Although the cosplay hype for Vocaloid isn’t as big anymore (unless you’re cosplaying Hatsune Miku), Kaito is still a great option to this day if you don’t care about that kind of stuff!

Rem from RE: Zero just has that kawaii look to her, and that’s why I put her on this list. Rem’s outfit is totally cute and awesome, which is why so many cosplayers dress up as her. You can also cosplay her sister Ram if you want to change things up.
4. Rei from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club
Back in the day, the series Free! Iwatobi Swim Club was so hyped and popular. That was a while ago and the hype has definitely died down. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t cosplay from Free! In fact, if you’re looking for a blue-haired Husbando, then you should consider cosplaying Rei! I personally have cosplayed as him and not only was it a lot of fun, but very comfortable as well. You just need his iconic swim jacket, the black pants/leggings and of course the blue wig.
5. Chloe Price from Life is Strange
With Life is Strange being so popular these days, I feel like Chloe Price is the poster girl for blue-haired characters. And she’s definitely a memorable girl to be. With her sassy personality and desire to go against the rule, Chloe Price is a great choice for blue hair cosplay ideas! And best of all, she’s an easy character to cosplay. You mostly need regular clothing to cosplay Chloe.
6. Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Byleth is the main protagonist in Three Houses, and the character you play as in the game. Byleth can be a male or female depending on your preference. Whichever gender you choose, Byleth looks great!

Definitely an underrated cosplay idea if you ask me. If you’ve watched Futurama, then you definitely know who Leela is! But have you considered cosplaying her? You definitely should! Leela is easy to cosplay and a well-loved character by Futurama fans.
8. Lapis Lazuli from Steven Universe
If you want to cosplay a blue-haired character with some body paint, Lapus Lazuli is character worth cosplaying then!
One of the more popular characters from Steven Universe, Lapis is another interesting character. She has had quite the hardship throughout her experiences, hence why she is distrustful of others at first. But she is quite the strong character and not willing to back down when times get tough.
9. Hades from Hercules
It’s weird but there aren’t that many Disney characters with blue hair! Blue clothing maybe (e.g. Jasmine) but not so much blue hair. Fortunately, we have Hades from Hercules. He’s the main villain in the series with an eccentric personality. If you want an excuse to cosplay Disney and someone with blue hair, then Hades will be a good choice.
10. Ryuko Matoi from Kill La Kill
Ryuko Matoi was all the rage back in the day, but maybe not so much anymore. Still,

Hinata was a very weak and shy girl in the beginning of Naruto, but overcame her weaknesses to become a strong ninja in the end. It’s this kind of story that makes her well-received. Not to mention she’s the love interest of Naruto himself!

If you follow my blog, then you know that I’ve cosplayed Marth many times. I can tell you it’s a lot of fun cosplaying him! His outfit is marvelous and being to dress up as The Prince of Fire Emblem is super epic! His outfit is more complex than your casual cosplay for sure. But it’s totally worth the effort to spend the extra money or effort to get his outfit. Pair that with his legendary sword, the Falchion, and you got yourself an awesome blue hair cosplay ideas!
16. Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon
Sailor Mercury (also known as Amy) is one of the more popular Sailor Scouts! And for good reason. Amy is the smartest one, with over 200 IQ. And she’s the first friend that Usagi meets in the series. Not only that, her blue outfit is so beautiful. Sailor Mercury is not just a palette swap like many characters in an Anime or even video game for that matter. Neon Genesis Evangelion is timeless, and so is Rei Ayanami. She’s the quiet and mysterious girl who has won the hearts of many Otaku and cosplayers alike. And for the purpose of this list, she fits the criteria for blue-haired characters! You can either go for Rei’s bodysuit edition. Or if you want something more comfortable, then you can go for her school outfit.

I contemplated not putting Bulma on this list, because it is somewhat greenish. But I wanted to include her because she is an iconic from Dragon Ball! Bulma is definitely a fan favorite for many, because she’s so important to the series despite not being a fighter. And being Vegeta’s wife, she’s definitely great for a couples cosplay. Bulma wear very casual clothing, so she is easy and budget-friendly to cosplay as!

Last but not least, we have Lucina from Awakening. Even after all these years, Lucina is still a very popular character. She’s a beautiful character with an amazing backstory, with no sense of humor that makes her all so noble. Her outfit is great and a big reason why so many cosplayers loved to cosplay as her. And no, she is not a Marth clone!
