Cosplay ideas for tall guys!
I never thought I would need to do a post about this. I’m not really sure the average height of guys, but I’m sure a lot of them aren’t Jack in the Beanstalk tall. But according to my research, a lot of people do search for tall guys cosplay ideas. So here I am, making this post for you because you wanted it!
The good news, there are a lot of male characters who are tall. Whether that’s in video games, Anime, comic, etc. You have no shortage of tall dudes in the fictional world.
In this post, I’ll go through 15 cosplay ideas for tall guys! Since I did 15 for short guys, it’s only fair that I also 15 ideas for you tall dudes out there.
Note: you don’t actually have to be male to do these cosplay ideas. Any gender is fine. I only put “tall guys” in the title because that’s what people actually search for.
Without further ado, let’s get started!

1. Zhongli from Genshin Impact
Zhongli is the Geo Daddy from the popular game, Genshin Impact! He is a wise old man with a youthful look that happens to know everything. At 6’1, he is one of the tallest characters in the game. Not to mention that his long outfit makes him really tall anyway. Zhongli is a great choice for cosplay ideas for tall guys simply because he’s such a popular character from a popular game.
2. Sebastian from Black Butler
Simply one hell of a butler! Sebastian Michaelis is one of the main characters of Kuroshitsuji. He is the demon servant for Ciel Phantomhive, who offers to protect him in exchange for his soul. It’s a wonderful series. Other than needing a few specialized pieces on his blazer jacket, Sebastian is pretty easy to cosplay! I used to cosplay him all the time and enjoyed how comfortable it was to wear his cosplay; it’s basically like wearing a suit. Sebastian is considered to be pretty tall, so he definitely qualifies to be on this list!
3. Legoshi from Beastars
I like to call Legoshi the gentle giant! Why? Because while he is supposed to a big bad wolf, he’s actually really shy and timid! Contrast that to his love interest, Haru. While Haru is a small little bunny, she is insanely fierce and not shy at all! This is why I think Legoshi from Beastars is an interesting choice for cosplay ideas for tall guys. Not to mention he’s pretty easy to cosplay. You don’t need to look like a wolf as he wears casual clothing. So he’s budget-friendly to cosplay as well!
4. Juggernaut from X-Men
It’s the Juggernaut biatch! If you haven’t watched the classic meme video from the past, you should know that Juggernaut is a major villain from X-Men. Not only is he a badass who beats up the good guys, he’s also very big and tall. So the Juggernaut is perfect if you are a bigger person and want to cosplay a character that’s physically similar to you.
5. Ichigo from Bleach
Do you remember how awesome Bleach was back then? Well, it’s making a comeback in 2022 and I predict it will be one of the more popular cosplays this year (if you want to know all the popular cosplays, click here). Ichigo Kurosaki is the main character from the series and he’s a notable cosplay you should do. With his orange hair and his black cloak that he wears, he’s an awesome character to dress up as. Bring a sword prop with you to make it look even better!
6. Marth from Fire Emblem
The Prince of Altea. Marth in my opinion is the most well-known character from Fire Emblem, because he (along with Roy) were first to appear in Super Smash Bros. As a tall guy and someone who has frequently cosplayed Marth, he is a great character to cosplay. I feel as noble and honored as he does. And while Marth’s cosplay isn’t the easiest to make on your own, it doesn’t take too much to put on his costume, based on my experience.
7. Captain America
Captain America is one of Marvel’s greatest treasures as character. Unlike some of the comic book superheroes, Captain America is imperfect and has seen the bad sides of the society he’s trying to defend, making him more relatable than most heroes. This is why you should consider Captain America! Not to mention he’s big and tall.
8. Protagonist from Persona 5
Looking cool Joker! Protagonist….as you can guess….is the main character of the popular RPG game, Persona 5. Like all P5 characters, their outfits are totally beautiful, fun and amazing. Having worn a Protagonist cosplay myself, I totally enjoyed it. It was easy and comfy to wear. And the checkered-pattern pants will definitely complement you if you’re tall; those pants will make you look like you’re a tall dude!
9. Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII
The One-Winged Angel. By far the most popular antagonist of all time. Not much needs to be said about Sephiroth that hasn’t been said or heard about. I’ve included Sephiroth on this list about cosplay ideas for tall guys as a contrast since he is a little more difficult to cosplay. His trench coat is very specialized and you’ll need some very big boots as well. But that’s okay, since you’re tall, it should be no problem! You’ll look amazing as Sephiroth!
10. Android 17 from Dragon Ball Z
To be honest, a bunch of characters from Dragon Ball Z are pretty damn tall: Goku, Gohan (when he’s an adult), Piccolo, etc. But I decided to pick Android 17 as he is one of the easier ones to cosplay for you. All you need is: a black wig (if you don’t have black hair), black shirt, blue jeans, green-colored canvas shoes, a gun pouch as a belt buckle, lime green ankle braces and some orange fabric in the front. Most of these items you can get from your regular wardrobe!
11. Rei from Free!
How about a little fan service. 🙂 Rei Ryugazaki is one of the main characters from Free!, a sports Anime about swimming. Say what you want about the series, but it was incredibly popular at the time when it came out. And even though the cosplay hype has long passed, it’s still a great series to cosplay from, because it’s so easy to cosplay. All you need to cosplay Rei is his blue hair, swim jacket and either black jeans or spandex pants. Rei is a tall character so that’s why I included him on this list.
12. Sylvain From Fire Emblem
Sylvain is a character from the latest Fire Emblem game, Three Houses. He is a ladies man! Cosplaying Sylvain is fairly simple, all you need is: an orange wig, a white dress shirt, a customized black blazer with gold stripes, black pants and white boots. I myself have cosplayed Sylvain in the past and he is really fun and easy to cosplay, so I highly recommend!
13. Superman
One of the most iconic characters of all time! Superman is a good cosplay choice for so many reasons. Pretty much everyone knows who he is. His outfit is pretty easy to wear. And of course, Superman is tall and big, like a Superman is supposed to be.
14. Kaeya from Genshin Impact
Of course I had to include another Husbando from Genshin Impact. Kaeya is one of the first characters you meet in the game. He is a cunning character but he loves to help you out. And yes, he is one of the tallest characters in Genshin at over 6 feet. I enjoy cosplaying Kaeya myself! His outfit is quite advanced though, so it’ll take some time to make his outfit. 15. Jiraiya from Naruto
The mentor to the main character, Naruto. The toad master from Jiraiya is actually one of the tallest characters from Naruto, at over 6 feet as well! He is a fun character to cosplay. His signature white hair definitely stands out.
