Instead of going for a popular cosplay or an Anime girl, maybe you want to be original and do something else. You want to get a reaction at a convention. Or you just have an awesome sense of humor. In this post, I will give you 15 funny cosplay ideas for you to try! You can’t spell cosplay without “play”, so why not try something fun for everyone?

1. Psy
Psy might not be as popular as when his song came out, but his outfit is very easy to do! Am I the only one that still remembers this lovely song? I actually went to Gangnam last year when I was in Seoul.
2. Flayn
I honestly included her because of this awesome photo I have of her!
She may look really young, but her intricate dialogue and elegant speaking beg to differ. Who knows how old Flayn actually is? Flayn isn’t actually a student at the Monastery; she is part of the Church and a family member of Seteth. Much of her past is shrouded in mystery. But all we know is that she loves fish!
It isn’t too hard to cosplay Flayn. All you need is her signature green hair and her outfit. And of course put on a bubbly face!
3. Kool-Aid Man
Oh yeah! Kool-Aid Man is an iconic character and wonderful drink. If you’ve watched Family Guy, I’m sure you loved his cameo appearances.
4. Powerpuff Guys
Who says you gotta be a girl to cosplay the Powerpuff Girls? Grab a group of friends together and cosplay together at this legendary trio. It doesn’t matter what gender you are; anyone can cosplay the Powerpuff Girls!
5. Diamond Mech Ship
If you want to be original, then consider cosplaying the Diamond Ships! I wouldn’t really consider them as true characters. But they’re definitely a creative and interesting cosplay to do. If you decide to cosplay the parts of the Diamond Ships, then don’t worry; fans of the series will definitely recognize who you are.
6. Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff, much like Pikachu, is an iconic Pokemon character. It’s been in so many Pokemon games since the first generation, including every single Super Smash Bros! Jigglypuff was notably a running gag in the Anime too, putting everyone asleep with her lovely singing! So you can’t go wrong with cosplaying the Puff! Bring a microphone with you if you do. You’ll put a smile on people’s faces. 🙂
7. Small Might
This is how All Might actually looks like; a skinny old man who is past his prime. Still, Small Might uses his knowledge to train and teach his protege Deku to become a future #1 hero. Out of all the cosplays here, Small Might is probably the easiest! Definitely a great choice for a funny cosplay ideas.
8. Harem Jutsu Naruto
If you want to do a Naruto cosplay and be meme-worthy, go for the Harem Jutsu! You’ll be having people laugh for your costume.
9. Inosuke
You might think that Inosuke is a bad guy with his freaky-looking appearance. But he’s actually a good guy that helps Tanjiro and Nezuko. Inosuke is a hot-headed character, as he’s always looking to fight, even if he’s sorely outmatched. He’s pretty easy to cosplay; all you need is the boar head, some nice pants and a couple of sword props.
10. Paimon
Paimon is everybody’s favourite Emergency Food *ahem* I mean sidekick! Paimon is the game’s mascot who is super adorable and not afraid to tell you what Paimon thinks of you. So if that’s what you’re into, then Paimon thinks you should cosplay as her! If you don’t mind being Emergency Food.
11. Dr. Eggman
Dr. Eggman, Robotnik, whatever you want to call him. You might think he’s just comedy relief but to me, he can be a super cool villain. If you’ve watched the recent Sonic movie, Jim Carrey did an amazing job as Dr. Eggman, portraying him in a crazy and sinister way. This is why I’ve included him on the list. Dr. Eggman is a great option for you big guys out there!
12. Mimikyu
Every Pokemon game has a “Pikaclone” that’s very notable. From Marill, Plusle/Minun to Emolga, Nintendo always ensures Pikachu gets the love as the mascot of Pokemon. But by far, Mimikyu is the most notable clone because it pretends to Pikachu itself! And Mimikyu is so adorably scary; it’s a great choice for a funny cosplay ideas!
13. Gluttony
One of the most memorable and favorite funny villains in FMA, Gluttony is a character that works for all body shapes and sizes, including plus size. Unlike Al, Gluttony is very easy to pull off. All you really need is black-coloured pants, shoes and a sleeveless shirt. And either have a bald head or wear a mask to cover your hair to look bald.
14. Mr. Resetti
Ah yes! Who can forget Mr. Resetti, the angry mole that yells at you for not saving your game properly? Sadly he’s been relegated to another department since New Horizons has auto-save now. But Mr. Resetti is a still a good choice for a humorous Animal Crossing cosplay ideas!
15. Umaru from Himouto! Umaru-chan
Umaru is definitely kawaii! Her personality may totally be different at home. But when she’s out in the real world, she definitely displays her cute traits. Her outfit is pretty easy to wear; it’s pretty much a modified onesie. Not much has to be said about Umaru-chan; A cute chibi character with such lazy and sloth habits when at home!

Casual Al
If you want to cosplay just for the lols, then look no further than Al. All you need is a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Just tell people you’re cosplaying Al from Fullmetal Alchemist and you all will have a nice laugh!
