Purple hair cosplay ideas!
I don’t know about you, but purple is one of my favorite colors! It just reeks of awesomeness. Fortunately, we have a handful of characters in the fictional world that have purple hair. And if you’re a cosplayer who is looking to put on a purple wig for a character (or you have purple hair yourself), then this post is for you!
In this article, I’ll give you 15 purple hair cosplay ideas you need to try! You’ll be surprised with all the wonderful characters that have purple hair. As usual, this list has a variety of characters from different fandoms in Anime, video games and comics. I’m sure you’ll find a character you’ll fancy to cosplay!
Without further ado, let’s get into it.
1. Raven from Teen Titans
Let’s start this list with probably the most popular character with purple hair, and that is of course Raven. Our favorite emo girl is mostly known in her appearance in Teen Titans. She is not too difficult to cosplay as, other than her signature waist belt, which can be prone to cosplay malfunction according to my friend. I highly recommend cosplaying as Raven if purple-haired characters are your thing.
2. Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion
Misato is quite the complex character. On the surface, she may seem strange and off. But deep down, she is quite friendly and warm. And she also happens to be a great commander when things get serious.
Misato is a very attractive character. She’s got her signature red jacket and she’s relatively easy to cosplay. So she’s definitely a great purple-haired character worth cosplaying as.
3. Raiden Shogun from Genshin Impact
If you been around cosplay conventions recently, then you more than likely have seen a ton of Raiden Shogun cosplayers. And why not? She is the hot Electro Mommy from the game. Raiden is one of the Archons. Not only is her powerful level insanely strong (both story wise and gameplay), her outfit is incredibly beautiful and fun to wear. It’s no wonder why she’s one of the most popular Genshin cosplays as of right now. And yes, she’s got purple hair!
4. Konno from Sword Art Online
If you want someone to look up to, then Konno is definitely one of them. From the beginning, Konno has fought threw her own personal struggles and despite the challenges, she is able to make such a big impact. She’s also incredibly strong as a fighter. I recommend cosplaying as Konno; she’s an awesome character!
5. Leela from Futurama
If you’re into Western cartoons, then you’ve probably seen Futurama with memorable characters like Fry, Bender and in this case Leela. She’s the lovely purple-haired girl with only one eye. We all love her friendly and warm personality, despite her upbringing. Leela has a few different outfits you can do, but her signature purple hair is the most important thing to have.
Psylocke is an iconic character from the Marvel Universe. She has extraordinary powers ranging from telepathy to excellent combat skills. Psylocke is definitely one of the comic bombshell characters and she’s one of the most popular cosplays to do. Her outfit is simply beautiful. You’ll look great as Psylocke!
7. Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia
Despite her appearance, Neptune is actually from a video game series. And yes she has purple hair, all the more reason to include her in this list of purple hair cosplay ideas! Neptune is from Hyperdimension Neptunia, a series about console wars, and Neptune is one of these four original goddesses/consoles.
Hyperdimension Neptunia sounds like a pretty serious plot but it’s actually pretty light-hearted. When Neptune is in her normal form, she’s one of those girls you just want to PROTECC. But when she transforms, she looks like your sexy Waifu goddess! Both outfits look great, so take your choice in which version of Neptune you want to cosplay!
8. Bernadetta from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
On this list we have a bunch of characters that are very eccentric and outgoing. But if you’re looking for the opposite, then Bernadetta from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is your girl. She is a very reclusive person who likes to hide in her room, rather than dealing with people. Despite her shyness, Bernadetta is a cute character with a great personality, which is why she is so likeable. Her purple hair is pretty easy to style, so she is fairly simple to cosplay too.
9. Rize from Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul is one of the more well-known series in recent memory. And back then, Rize was incredibly popular to cosplay as. I still highly recommend cosplaying as her today. She’s pretty easy to cosplay as, and she looks great. If you want to cosplay an evil villain, then you got to cosplay as Rize!
10. Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop
Faye Valentine is a well-known character from Cowboy Bebop. She’s a badass woman who does whatever she wants, but will always help Spike and the gang out. Since Faye’s outfit is basically yellow shorts and tank top, she’s great for warm weather or during a summer convention.
11. Kojou Sara from Genshin Impact
When it comes to Genshin Impact characters from the Inazuma region in the game, it’s usually Raiden that gets the most attention. But here’s another character that should get more attention: Kojou Sara! Sara is in charge of the Tenryou Commission, a department that keeps Inazuma under control.
Not only is Sara very level-headed and strong, but she also has a wonderful outfit that looks just as good as Raiden. As a bonus, Sara is one of the tallest characters in the game. So if you want to cosplay someone as tall as you, then Sara is your girl! (Note: you don’t need to be tall to cosplay her).
12. Trunks from Dragon Ball Z
Trunks is one of the Z Fighters from Dragon Ball Z. The son of Vegeta and Bulma, Trunks has an interesting story indeed. His future self comes into the present to warn the Z Fighters of potential danger. And in one of the movies, he’s the main character who saves the planet from Android 17 and 18 from destruction. Trunks is definitely a popular character to cosplay! Make sure you have a cosplay sword to complete his look.
13. Kirigi from Danganronpa
Even after all these years, Danganronpa is still a popular series to this day. Who doesn’t love a school survival game with a bunch of memorable characters, including Kyoko Kirigiri? While she might come off as cold, she is still a smart girl who helps to solve the mysteries that take place in the game.
Kirigiri is pretty easy to cosplay; it mostly involves wearing regular clothing. And purple hair of course!
14. Yuki Nagato from The Melanchony of Haruhi Suzumiya
Nagato is another character from The Melanchony of Haruhi Suzumiya, one of the most popular Anime in the 2000s. She’s part of the SOS Brigade. She has a quiet and introvert personality, yet she is still so relatable. Nagato is quite the interesting and mysterious character! If you want someone simple to cosplay, then definitely cosplay Nagato from Haruhi!
15. Keqing from Genshin Impact
Another fan favorite from Genshin Impact, Keqing is the Cat Girl we all love. She is part of the Liyue Qixing, the organization that takes care of the region’s politics and affairs. Keqing might come off as stern, but deep down she is a caring character with a lot of charm!
As for Keqing’s outfit, it’s surprisingly easy to do make. Probably one of the easier characters to cosplay from Genshin. And she has 2 different outfits that both look great!
