Spring cosplay ideas!

When the snow clears and the weather gets warmer, it’s only natural that you’ll want to start cosplaying a lot more often! It’s also when convention season starts to pick up.

Are you looking for some new cosplay ideas for the spring? If so, then look no further. This article is for you!

In this post, I’ll go over 15 spring cosplay ideas you need to try. These cosplays are great for the spring weather and scenery. The characters are from various fandoms, including Anime, video games and comics.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

1. Venti from Genshin Impact

Cosplayer: ruruka0v0.

I choose Venti from Genshin Impact because he is the Wind Archon! And Venti fits the theme of spring weather and vibes perfectly.

Even though Venti was one of the very first characters in the game, his popularity has remained to this day. Why? Cause he’s so unique! The Wind Archon is a wandering bard who specializes in musical talents and singing (and drinking). Who doesn’t love this adorable bard? And his outfit is quite marvelous!

2. Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service

If you want a really easy cosplay to do for the spring, then you should go for Kiki from the popular Studio Ghibli film, Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Of all the cheapest cosplay ideas, Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service is one of the best! It’s such an insanely cheap way to cosplay. All you need basically is a dress, a broom and a nice bowtie.

3. Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist

When it’s time to put away the winter boots and jacket, then a character like Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist is wonderful for spring weather!

Even though Fullmetal Alchemist is (somewhat) an older series, the show is still on top up to this day. And one of the more well-known characters from FMA is Lust. Why? She’s got that sexy, seductively-evil look. And she’s really easy to do: long black dress, black hair/wig and claws.

4. Kirisu from Steins Gate

This is from an older series but still one of those great easy cosplay ideas. Kirisu is one of the main characters of the series, being mature and sometimes sarcastic at the same time. Overall, she’s a cool character and a good choice if you want someone simple to cosplay.

5. Yae Miko from Genshin Impact

Cosplayer: meltyminx.

We all know that cherry blossoms are associated with spring. And what better character to cosplay than Yae Miko, who is all about Sakura Tree things? Her outfit matches perfectly with the cherry blossom vibes!

Yae Miko was introduced during the Inazuma arc of the story as the Head Maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine, as well as a close friend of Raiden Shogun. Since then, she’s been a popular character up to this day! Yae is a gorgeous-looking character based off the Kitsune. And her personality is so sassy and mysterious, you can’t help but be intrigued by her.

6. Professor Sycamore from Pokémon X and Y

Sycamore
Sycamore is great for weather like this!

Pokémon cosplays in general are great for mild weather. And from my experience, Professor Sycamore works especially well! If you don’t know, Sycamore is from Pokémon X and Y (aka Generation 6). He is the professor with the cool-looking hair. And with the lab coat and dress shirt, I can definitely say he’s very comfortable to cosplay during the springtime!

7. Love Live!

Oh yes! Love Live! in general is very cheery and upbeat, which fits perfectly for the spring vibes!

Can you believe that Love Live! is over half a decade old? Yet the series is still the classic idol Anime series that’s going to stay on top for a very long time. And who doesn’t love idol groups? Everyone seems to be starting or continuing idol groups based on Love Live! So unless a new series comes out that’s just as good as Love Live! it’s going to stick around for years to come.

8. Rei from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club

Rei Cosplay
Rei is great in the park during spring!

Rei is very easy to do. All you need is the jacket and dark coloured pants and shoes!

For those who don’t know, the Free! series is the ultimate fan service for those who love hot dudes in swim gear. And that’s basically what Rei’s cosplay is about: a jacket and spandex pants.

9. Erina from Food Wars

Cosplayer: MoonCactus Cosplayer.

Erina is your typical Tsundere girl; just stone cold and hard to impress. But when it comes to great food, Soma is always able to make her foodgasm! It doesn’t take much to cosplay the main female Anime girl from Food Wars. So if you’re looking for someone easy to do, Erina is your girl!

10. Yor Forger from Spy X Family

Yor Forger! Cosplayer: miichan.cosplay.

Yor is by far the most popular character to cosplay from Spy x Family. Her outfit is so hot and who doesn’t want to dress up as a covert assassin?

11. Chloe Price from Life is Strange

Cosplayer: rachasakawa. Photo taken by mayucosart. Edited by eckhardt.photos.

The most notable character from Life is Strange, Chloe Price (aka the Bae) is a badass punk!  Even though the game is a few years old now, she’s still an iconic character who pretty much everyone will recognize.

12. Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist

Roy Mustang of course. 🙂

Fire and flames! Whether you decide to wear Roy’s full uniform or doing something casual like I did, you will find that most FMA cosplays work well when the weather is warmer. You won’t feel too hot or cold because the FMA “state military” outfit is pretty lightweight. And of course, who doesn’t want to cosplay one of the best Husbandos ever in Roy Mustang? 🙂

13. Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Now here’s another throwback to the 2000s. Considered one of the best Anime series in that decade, Haruhi is a very recognizable character and people will love that you’re showing appreciation for one of the most loved characters of all time. And she’s pretty easy to cosplay as well, making her a great choice for a springtime cosplay.

14. Hestia from Danmachi (Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon)?

Hestia is a very polarizing character from Danmachi! She is either your perfect Waifu Anime girl, or she is another overrated character that you have to ignore because everyone else loves her.

You really just need a white mini-dress and her signature long-black hair! Since her dress and gloves are very unique, I suggest just buying it online! Her dress is great for the spring.

15. Ouran Host Club

Ouran Host Club is always fun to cosplay, and great during spring weather!

I can vouch for how awesome it is to cosplay from Ouran Host Club. It’s an older series but still definitely one of my favorites to this day.

I can tell you that cosplaying from Ouran Host Club is super comfortable and super cheap! You can use your own dress shirt and pants. The only thing you need to make or buy is the blue blazer with the school crescent. And while the black tie has a purple stripe going down the center, you can just wear a regular black tie instead.

Bonus

Naruto characters

Naruto is one of the most popular Shonen of all time, and many characters from the series are wonderful for the springtime. Characters like Sasuke and Sakura look great beside cherry blossom trees (I know from experience). Couples like Naruto and Hinata are great for spring-themed areas like in parks. I highly recommend Naruto for spring cosplay ideas.

Demon Slayer characters

Much like Naruto, Demon Slayer characters work really well in the spring. The colorful kimonos, along with the unique themes of the series, make Demon Slayer a great choice in the spring.
