I don’t know about you, but I love seeing curly hair! I myself don’t have curly hair, but I think it looks beautiful. My friends always complain about how difficult it is to maintain curly hair, but I feel like it’s something we should appreciate more.
And what better way to appreciate curly hair than to cosplay a character with curly hair? 🙂 If you feel that way, then read on!
In this post, I’ll give you 10 curly hair cosplay ideas you need to try! These characters are from a variety of fandoms, including Anime, video games and cartoons. You’ll certainly love these characters!

1. Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus
I wanted to start this list with a character that a lot of us grew up with. If you don’t know, Ms. Frizzle is the teacher from The Magic School Bus that took her class on all those crazy field trips. Not only can she bench press a ton of weight, she also educated us on a lot of useful things. Ms. Frizzle is an iconic character with curly hair, and I can guarantee people will love your look if you decide to cosplay as her!
2. Merida from Brave
Of all the Disney princesses out there, Merida definitely has to be the most well-known character with curly hair. She’s got that bright orange hair. Merida is from the movie series, Brave. She is a skilled archer and (something). Even though Brave is somewhat of an older series, a lot of people remember who she is. Merida is definitely a character worth cosplaying!
3. Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist
Oh yes! As her name implies, List is a sexy character from Fullmetal Alchemist. She is one of the major villains from the series and uses her seduction to succeed in her evil ways.
Not only is Lust a great character with curly hair to cosplay, she’s also one of the easiest to do. All you really need is a long black dress, a black curly hair wig (or use your own natural hair), and some really really long claws!
4. Chuckie from Rugrats
If you grew up in the 90s, then you probably have watched Rugrats as a kid. And one of the most memorable characters was Chuckie, the kid with the orange curly hair and big glasses! We loved how adorable he was, and he’s definitely one of the favorites. You can do a grown-up version of a Chuckie cosplay by wearing his thick glasses, a spaceship shirt and of course showing off his orange curly hair!
5. Xinyan from Genshin Impact
The rock and roll artist from Liyue, Xinyan from Genshin Impact is a fiery character! Even though Liyue doesn’t have much to do with rock music, Xinyan likes to do things her own way. And that’s what makes her so special. To me, she’s definitely an underrated character in the game and definitely worth cosplay. If you’re looking for a character with curly hair, then Xinyan is your girl! Bring a guitar with you to complete her look.
6. Professor Sycamore from Pokémon
I would know a little bit about Professor Sycamore, because I actually cosplayed as him! If you don’t know, Sycamore is from Pokémon X and Y (Generation 6). I’d say of all the Pokémon professors, Sycamore looks the coolest (although Professor Gen 7 comes close).
Professor Sycamore is really easy to cosplay. You just need some black pants, a navy blue dress shirt, a lab coat and his iconic curly hair.
7. Scarlet Witch from Marvel Universe
If you’ve watched The Avengers movie series, then you probably know about Scarlet Witch (or Wanda Maximoff). She is a powerful sorceress who is capable of manipulating reality. What makes Scarlet Witch unique is that she is both a hero and villain, depending on the series or story you’re watching. If you’re looking to cosplay a Marvel character with curly hair, I can’t think of a better than Scarlet Witch!
8. Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop is considered to be one of the best Anime series of all time, and that might have to do with the main character, Spike Spiegel. He’s a badass bounty hunter who looks stylish and awesome. Who doesn’t love a man who wears a suit and sports some sexy curly hair? 🙂
9. Protagonist from Persona 5
As you can tell from the name, Protagonist is the main character of the popular RPG game, Persona 5. I’ve cosplayed him as well and he’s absolutely a lot of fun to dress up as! I love wearing his curly black wig and the glasses look so cool. Not to mention the cosplay is incredibly comfortable to wear. I highly recommend cosplaying as Protagonist. 🙂
10. Dorothea from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Three Houses is one of the best Fire Emblem games ever made and there are a handful of memorable characters in it. One of them is Dorothea, a talented opera singer who is part of the Black Eagles. She’s a beautiful woman with curly brunette hair. And you can either cosplay her original version as a Monastery student, or her time skip version.
